SAIC VOLKSWAGEN was formed in 1984 in Shanghai. It is a joint venture between Germany and China. Investment proportion between China and Germany is 50% by SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation), 40% by Volkswagen Group and 10% by Volkswagen China Investment Co., Ltd.
SAIC VOLKSWAGEN Automobile Co., Ltd. is one of the largest modern sedan production bases in China and headquarter locates in Anting Shanghai, with radiation function to big five production bases in Nanjing, Yizheng, Urumqi and Ningbo. In addition, Hunan (Changsha) project is under construction as well.
Based on the two key brands Volkswagen, and Skoda, the company currently has Polo, Touran, Lavida, Tiguan, Santana, Passat, Fabia , Rapid, Yeti, Octavia and Superb series products, covering A0 class, A class, B class, SUV, MPV and other different segments.
